The University of Geneva is an institution devoted to research, teaching and dialogue. It is the site of academic creativity and the transmission of knowledge. Since its foundation in 1559 the UNIGE has developed ever higher ethical standards and steadily increased in quality and the will to innovation. Today it is one of Europe’s leading universities.

The Global Studies Institute (GSI), established in 2013, is an inter-faculty center dedicated to global issues. It offers Bachelor’s and Master’s programs in global studies, governance, and international relations, while also conducting research on topics such as global governance, diplomacy, and international dynamics. Its mission is strongly interdisciplinary, bringing together and connecting fields such as law, history, political science, economics, and others in order to provide a comprehensive and cross-cutting understanding of contemporary global challenges.

The Geneva Centre of Humanitarian Studies, part of the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Geneva, has been a leading platform for humanitarian scholarship and training for over 25 years. Established through collaboration between academic institutions and humanitarian organisations, the Centre focuses on health as well as history, climate change, negotiation, and management. Located in Geneva’s humanitarian hub, and working in close partnership with Médecins Sans Frontières and the International Committee of the Red Cross, the Centre combines academic rigour with professional practice to prepare humanitarian actors to address today’s most pressing challenges.

The University of Geneva offers continuing education programmes on a variety of subjects, including International and Humanitarian Affairs, Law, Economics and Management, Environment and Sustainable Development, Languages, Cultures and Civilizations, Translation and Interpretation.
