20 March 2025
Teaser Due to Uzbekistan's sharp continental climate and global climate change, agricultural risks are increasingly threatening sustainable development, farmers' well-being, and food security. Agro-insurance that protects farmers against climate-related risks is a key tool in managing these challenges. To address this, the UNDP, Ministry of Agriculture, and insurance organizations, "Swiss Re" and "Europe Re", organized training to enhance the skills of Uzbekistan’s insurance market participants, including government agencies and insurance companies, in agricultural insurance. On another note Uzbekistan will host the 20th meeting of the Conference of the Parties to CITES in November 2025. This daily life shot of a woman selling watermelons at the Chorsu Bazaar, Tashkent, Uzbekistan, in 2023, was taken by Magnum photographer Gueorgui Pinkhassov.
