The Global Refugee Forum - the world's largest international gathering on refugees - takes place from 13 to 15 December at the Palexpo convention centre in Geneva. A wide range of linked events will run throughout the Forum. Like the Geneva State Council, if you wish to have your picture taken and record a message to express your support for UNHCR's work on behalf of refugees, Switzerland for UNHCR invites you to participate in the Inside Out "Hope Away From Home" public action on 13 and 14 December Place de Neuve between 9.30 and 16.30.
United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, Filippo Grandi, said about this picture: "Behind every photo is a person forced from their home and a story of displacement, dispossession and suffering. They merit our attention and support not just with humanitarian aid, but in working together to find solutions to their plight." This family was photographed in Greece by Paolo Pellegrin in 2016. It is part of a set of commented images to mark the 70th anniversary of the Refugee Convention.
