Teaser Did you know that over 80% of the species listed in the CITES Appendices are plants? It includes cacti, orchids, trees, aloes, and other ornamental, medicinal, and aromatic plants. Since its entry into force in 1975, CITES has regulated international trade to ensure it is legal and sustainable, allowing wild populations to thrive and continue supporting their ecosystems. This stunning portrait of plants was taken by Magnum photographer Paolo Pellegrin in the Sonoran Desert, Mexico, in 2019.
