Can AI accelerate climate action where it matters most?
As impacts and risks escalate, how can AI help accelerate science-based climate action? What role can Geneva and its stakeholders play?
Objectives:
To share an analysis of organisations’ operational needs to accelerate the implementation of their climate commitments whilst fulfilling their social goals. The potential for a digital management tool, powered by AI, to support decision-making, planning and monitoring of priority actions (carbon footprint data, choice of solutions, dynamic modelling of carbon impacts, reduction scenarios, financial costs, progress measurement)
The capacity to save time and money in transforming practices, and thus to meet the targets recommended by the IPCC whilst lowering costs for organisations.
The willingness of stakeholders from diverse backgrounds (AI for Good initiatives, businesses and climate action experts) to collaborate in developing a tool as an open access common good for service organisations providing essential services to populations (both local and international).
