Tool to strengthen synergies and improve coordination to support Member States in achieving the SDGs
The UN Office at Geneva has mapped out the expertise on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) found across international organizations, NGOs and other institutions based in Geneva. This has been envisioned as a tool to help strengthen synergies, improve coordination to support countries achieve the SDG and provide Member States an overview of “who is doing what and where”. Over 75 organizations participated in the initial mapping exercise.

Tomorrow, 17 March, the UNDP and GCSP invite you to join the "Geneva Presentation of the UNDP Special Report on Human Security." To bring a larger perspective on human security, high-level speakers will share their views through the lens of climate, security, health, and digital in light of emerging threats in the 21st century. The image above was taken during a geological study at the Atacama desert in Chile by Magnum photographer Patrick Zachmann in 2003.

From 27 February to 4 April 2023, the Human Right Council is holding its 52nd regular session. United Nations' highest body dedicated to the protection and promotion of Human Rights will mark the 35th anniversary of the Declaration on the Right to Development and organizes notably a series of high-level meetings addressing youth rights and participation, the question of death penalty, racism, the rights of people with disabilities and children's rights. You may watch the session live on UN Web TV. Those children playing were pictured in September 2020, by Emin Ozmen, in the province of Mardin, Turkey, at the border with Syria, where thousands of Syrians have sought refuge since the beginning of the war.

Initiated by the Geneva Science and Diplomacy Anticipator (GESDA), the inaugural Science Diplomacy Week starts today, 16 May, until 20 May 2022. This cutting-edge forum will notably address Climate change, Peacebuilding and artificial intelligence, Humanitarian action, Global Health, CyberPeace, Ethics of crisis communication, and Big Data through the lens of science diplomacy. From 29 November to 2 December 2021, the Building Bridges Summit and Week convene actors from the finance industry, the United Nations, IOs, NGOs, academia, and policymakers to strengthen sustainable finance to address the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The week provides a wide range of sessions that encourage dialogue and collaboration, you may register here or view the sessions online.
