The Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) holds the World Cancer Congress in Geneva from 18 to 20 October. Through a multidisciplinary program that presents the latest successful interventions in cancer prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and care, experts and leaders will deliver a suite of innovative and interactive sessions covering the full spectrum of cancer control. Nancy Borowick spent years photographing her parents undergoing parallel treatments for stage four cancer. This multi-rewarded intimate family story is part of the book entitled "The Family Imprint: A Daughter's Portrait of Love and Loss," Hatje Kantz publishing, and will be shown at the Xposure festival in February 2023.

On 10 – 11 May, Geneva will host the GIS for a Sustainable World Conference. Based on Geospatial technology in the form of Geographic Information Systems, this merging of data, people and methods aim to share knowledge and respond better to global challenges. In conjunction with the GIS conference, the WHO launches today, 9 May, the WHO GIS Centre for Health, to assist the health sector in its efforts "to respond to an outbreak, track vaccine delivery, collect samples, and explore spatial patterns in areas of case reporting." "More than 2,500 information and communication technology (ICT) experts from around the globe will convene this week in Geneva for the World Summit on the Information Society Forum 2018 (WSIS Forum 2018). The WSIS Forum runs 19-23 March and represents the world's largest annual multi-stakeholder gathering of the ICT for development community. Young Reporters at UNOG opens the door of the United Nations in Geneva to high-school students (16-19) interested in international affairs to engage with experts from different organizations in a press briefing setting. Each session is topical (i.e. covering issues related to food, water or international development) and 2-3 representatives from organizations working in that area come to talk about their work and current issues.
