"Flowminder Foundation is a registered non-profit organisation based in Stockholm, Sweden (reg. no. 802477-6414). Our mission is to improve public health and welfare in low- and middle-income countries. The organisation works with governments, inter-governmental organisations and NGOs. We collect, aggregate, integrate and analyse de-identified mobile operator data, satellite and household survey data. Flowminder's analyses facilitate mapping of distributions and characteristics of vulnerable populations in low- and middle-income countries. We help save lives by providing analyses and decision support to all relevant parties; the data Flowminder provides are global public goods. We focus our operations in low- and middle-income countries in a range of practice areas including disaster response, precision epidemiology and socioeconomic analysis. Flowminder has worked with numerous mobile operators globally including Orange, Vodafone, TeliaSonera, Telenor Group and Digicel. Collaborations with UN agencies have included UN OCHA (United Nations Office for Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs), UNFPA (UN Population Fund) and WFP (UN World Food Programme). Flowminder’s main analytical capacities are based in Southampton, Stockholm and Geneva; Flowminder’s staff is affiliated to academic institutions including Harvard University, University of Southampton, Karolinska Institute and Stockholm School of Economics."
