"Global Citizen, also known as Global Poverty Project, is an international advocacy organization that seeks to catalyze the movement to end extreme poverty and promote social justice and equity through the lens of intersectionality. Known for holding advocacy concerts and using the convening power of music and artists, the organization was founded in 2008 as the Global Poverty Project and has since opened offices in London, Berlin, Toronto, Lagos, Melbourne, Johannesburg and is headquartered in New York. Its Geneva representation was registered in July 2023. With a growing community of 11 million global citizens worldwide, 33.7 million actions taken, 1.29 billion lives impacted, US$43,6 billions in funds distributed and different policy commitments delivered on, Global Citizen collaborates with Geneva-based or Geneva-present organizations such as the WHO, ILO, the OHCHR, different special procedures of the Human Rights Council, UNFPA and different partner CSOs."
