A Bite at the CERN

You might know that the CERN is a wide site where you have the opportunity to meet scientists from all over Europe. Four restaurants are scattered on the site on both sides of the border:

  • Restaurant 1
  • Restaurant 2
  • Restaurant 3
  • Cafeteria Prévessin

Did you know that the architects who built the CERN took many precautions to protect the staff from the radiations of the accelerator? That is why they placed it underground and installed the Main Building, the administrative building, away from it.

By the way, the people who work at the CERN have a mission:

  • "To provide a unique range of particle accelerator facilities that enable research at the forefront of human knowledge
  • To perform world-class research in fundamental physics
  • To unite people from all over the world to push the frontiers of science and technology, for the benefit of all."
